This weekend, I watched a loved one graduate. The cap, the gown, the hug, the tears — a whole chapter closing and a new one opening right in front of us. And the day before? Mother’s Day. Two celebrations, back to back.
It’s a season of milestones. Of pride. Of pausing to take it all in.
And somewhere between the photos and the flowers, a quiet thought settled in:
We were celebrated yesterday. But are we cheering for ourselves the way we cheer for them?
As professional women — as mothers — we pour out. We show up. We carry it all. We clap the loudest for everyone else’s next chapter, and quietly tuck our own aside for “someday.”
But here’s what I want you to sit with this week: our kids are watching how we step into our own next chapters just as much as we’re watching them step into theirs.
The pivot you’ve been circling. The business idea that won’t leave you alone. The season after the kids. The calling you keep returning to.
That’s a next chapter too. And it’s worth celebrating — not when it’s finished, but while you’re walking into it.
So be excited for theirs. Be just as excited for yours.
We deserve the celebration too.
If you’ve been standing at the edge of your own next chapter and wondering if it’s time, I’d love to talk.
