I’ve been reflecting on something lately, and I wanted to share it with you.
Before I turned 40, I had a goal: I wanted to run a marathon.
Sounds simple enough, right? Well… it took me three tries.
The first time, I didn’t finish. The second time, I didn’t finish.
And I remember how easy it would have been to tell myself: “Maybe this just isn’t for me.”
But something in me wouldn’t let it go. So I trained again. I showed up again.
And right before I turned 40… I crossed that finish line.
Not because I started perfectly. Not because I had it all figured out.
But because I decided not to give up on something that mattered to me.
And the more I think about it… that lesson has very little to do with running.
It has everything to do with life.
Because I see so many women—brilliant, capable, accomplished—
who quietly put a timeline on what’s possible for them.
“I should’ve started sooner…”
“I’m too far behind…”
“Maybe it’s too late to pivot…”
But what if it’s not?
What if this season you’re in right now…
is actually the starting point for something new?
That could be:
- Reimagining your income
- Building something alongside what you already do
- Creating more flexibility, more impact, more alignment
Not by starting over… but by starting differently.
If something in this resonates with you, don’t ignore it.
Sometimes the only thing standing between where you are and what’s next…
is the decision to try again.
